God has done all this. He has restored our relationship with him through Christ, “and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships.” The answer is not going to be found in the world. The world is not going to fix the sin issue of racism. Only Jesus Christ can transform and make a crooked heart straight. The answer has to start in the church but the church must be willing to have have difficult and uncomfortable conversations to bring understanding and honor. Healing starts with us not just talking about it but putting our words into action. It must start on our knees in prayer for that which is birthed in the spirit of God will be maintained in the spirit of God and that which is birthed in the flesh and the works of the flesh will be maintained in the works of the flesh. King David prayed “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Before we can teach the world about reconciliation we must first repent and learn ourselves how to be healed and reconciled. Only then will the world know we are His by our love one for another. Jesus, we need you. We need your Holy Spirits power and wisdom. Lead us to repentance, heal us and make us lovers of your creation. Teach us Holy Spirit your ways. For your ways are higher than our ways.
