God has done all this. He has restored our relationship with him through Christ, “and has given us this ministry of restoring relationships.” The answer is not going to be found in the world. The world is not going to fix the sin issue of racism. Only Jesus Christ can transform and make a crooked heart straight. The answer has to start in the church but the church must be willing to have have difficult and uncomfortable conversations to bring understanding and honor. Healing starts with us not just talking about it but putting our words into action. It must start on our knees in prayer for that which is birthed in the spirit of God will be maintained in the spirit of God and that which is birthed in the flesh and the works of the flesh will be maintained in the works of the flesh. King David prayed “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Before we can teach the world about reconciliation we must first repent and learn ourselves how to be healed and reconciled. Only then will the world know we are His by our love one for another. Jesus, we need you. We need your Holy Spirits power and wisdom. Lead us to repentance, heal us and make us lovers of your creation. Teach us Holy Spirit your ways. For your ways are higher than our ways. I want to see an America that we can support the rights of Black men and women and the injustice done against them without someone saying “You don’t support the police!” I want to see an America where one can support our Police without the judgement of being called a racist. I want to see liberty, honor and justice for all! Every race! All people! We shouldn’t we have to be forced to “take sides?” “It’s not all black & white!” I have amazing African America friends and family that I love and support and try to empathize with but I can not begin to understand what they go through in society. I also have some amazing white friends who are incredible police officers who I’ve led worship with and who I’ve done life with. I love them all so much! As a white man I’ve never been racially profiled in a store or at a traffic stop. I’ve never been judged in a public place for being white. I’m not black and I have no idea how that must feel. I’ve been in scenarios where I’ve witnessed my black friends being profiled. I’ve seen the looks, the glances, the moving to the other side of the street from the sidewalk....It’s messed up! It’s demonic! I have also been in scenarios where I was in an all black crowd and felt uncomfortable because of the voices of society that where embedded in my spirit saying “you don’t belong here....you are different than them. Your skin don’t match.” I believed lies from Satan that I didn’t belong! On the others hand at Lock Haven University I was in a gospel choir and I was the only white dude. I was treated with so much love and respect! I grew up playing black gospel music. I was the funky white boy on the bass and they loved me and treated me amazing! We sang together, we ate together, we laughed together, we cried together, we prayed together. They were my family! I hate to see my black family suffer and misunderstood. I hate to see the injustice of profiling they experience on a daily basis! I hate the abuse of power and authority used against them to oppress them! It’s all from the pit of hell!
